Dharmendra On Guidelines That EXCLUDE Actors Above 65 From Working Amid The COVID-19 Outbreak, 'Work Is Worship, Show Must Go On'
The shootings in Mumbai may have resumed amid the Coronavirus pandemic but the government of Maharashtra has issued fresh guidelines. Among many, the list also includes barring people over the age of 65 from working in order to avoid the risk of getting infected or other health concerns. However, actor Pramod Pandey and The Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) had recently approached the Bombay High Court to reconsider the above-mentioned rule. In response to the same, the HC has put forth some questions for the state government's counsel advocate. As per a report in TOI, the final hearing on this matter will held tomorrow.

Actress turned politician Hema Malini, too, asked the government to bring a conclusion in this matter. She has written to Home Secretary and requested an amendment. In a conversation with BT, the veteran said, “Why make it a compulsion for them to stay at home? Actors can’t sit at home and do nothing. There are so many TV shows that have roles that are essayed by senior actors. So, they should be allowed on the sets.” Now, her husband and actor Dharmendra Deol, too, has shared his two cents on this matter. The 84-year-old stated that every actor should be allowed to work, albeit with all the necessary precautions and safety.

"I feel like I have just started working at the age of 65 (laughs!). Personally, I would like to shoot, however, right now, I am enjoying my time at our farmhouse. Having said that, there are several senior actors from my fraternity, who are willing to work and make money," said Dharmendra to TOI.

He continued, "I believe work is worship and so, it must go on. Bas safety and precaution ka khayal rakhna chahiye and actors should be allowed to shoot."
